The art contest “Koroška, Who are You?”, organized by the Carinthian Students Club, in cooperation with the Kompleks Youth Culture Centre and the Ravne Gallery, took place from 1 April to 23 May 2022. This year, the contest was open to for the first time to artists from all over Slovenia, and fifteen female artists and four male artists applied.
The jury, consisting of Neža Rebernik Jamnik (KKŠ), Jernej Kožar (KGLU, Ravne Gallery), Daša Vinšek (last year’s contest winner) and Božidar Zrinski (MGLC) examined in detail all the submissions received and after careful consideration decided to award the first prize, a solo exhibition at the Ravne Gallery in 2023, to Isidora Todorić.
Isidora Todorić (1995) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in 2020, at the department of painting, majoring in video and new media, where she also continues her postgraduate studies in sculpture and contemporary art practices. The jury recognized in her works exceptional talent and foundations for further artistic development. A subtle attitude towards different materials and an in-depth study of various sculptural techniques can be seen in the submitted works. In her work, the artist addresses concepts that concern wider social issues, history, linguistics and botany.
Isidora Todorić showed the most mature artistic stance among all the applicants, which convinced the jury to award her the first prize – a solo exhibition in the Ravne Gallery in 2023.
We sincerely congratulate the winner!
