ISMAIL SARAY

Ismail Saray (1943, Kütahya) is an artist of Turkish origin, who has been very active since the ‘70s, both at home and internationally. His conceptual practice was highly political, which meant that he was always working on the margins of society. Ismail Saray was forced to leave Turkey due to his artistic activities in the ‘80s. Today, he lives and works in London. In 2018, the museum SALT/Garanti Kültür AŞ in Istanbul published an extensive publication on his oeuvre, in which his work from the exhibition Peace 75 – 30 UN is documented as well.
