METOD FRLIC
Born in 1965 in Suša in the Poljanska valley. After the third year of the School of Design and Photography (graphics department), he enrolled at the Ljubljana Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in sculpture. He graduated in 1989 under prof. Lujo Vodopivec and continued with him to complete his postgraduate studies in 1996. Immediately after graduation, he traveled extensively around the world. In 1995 he studied in Germany and in 2000 in Japan. He has participated in numerous international sculpture symposia in Austria, Hungary, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, China, Greece, Croatia and Slovenia. Since 1979, he had numerous solo exhibitions, participated in great number of group exhibitions at home and abroad, and received fifteen awards and recognitions, including the recognition of the art of works at the University of Ljubljana in 2008. He is recognizable by his portrait sculptures and numerous public monuments at home and abroad. Since 2009 he has been lecturing at the sculpture department at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. He lives and works in Ljubljana and in the studio at Malenski Vrh above Škofja Loka.
