Drawings

The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Koroška keeps more than 500 drawings by various artists. The largest portion of the drawings collection is represented by works from the artistic oeuvres of authors that have donated collections of their works to the Museum. With the exception of early works by Oskar von Pistor, whose time of creation is the transition from the 19th to the 20th century, most of the drawings’ creation is dated to the second half of the 20th century. Besides the most extensive groups of drawings, those by Štefan Planinc and Ted Kramolc, a large part of the exhibition consists of drawings by Jože Tisnikar and the figural studies and preparatory sketches by Karel Pečko. The sketchbooks of various artists also belong to the drawings collection.
