Intermedia Art

The intermedia collection of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Koroška is a hybrid space encompassing contemporary artworks that elude classical definitions and combine various artistic techniques such as photography, video and installation. A large part of the collection is composed of works that were preserved in the Museum as the remainders of public-space installations at various exhibitions. The intermedia collection contains 23 works by 23 authors, starting with the work by Daniel Buren from 1975, Gaps in Architecture. The collection also contains an artist’s book, two sculptures, animations, installations and videos that were part of several past exhibitions. The Museum’s intermedia collection has been growing rapidly throughout the past years and it holds great potential for development due to the nature of contemporary art.
