Matej Čepin’s paintings are extremely suggestive and fresh. He paints using the impasto technique. In his paintings, he depicts solitary figures placed in a fictitious landscape. The atmosphere in the works is surreal. Čepin’s approach to painting is reminiscent of that of Jože Tisnikar.

At the exhibition in the Ravne Gallery, Matej Čepin will present his latest works created in the most recent period. The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Koroška keeps several of his works in its collection.

Matej Čepin (1977, Celje) has no formal art education, he studied art independently. Since 2017, he has had the status of self-employed professional in the field of culture.
