MATEJ ČEPIN: HAPPY DAYS
18. 11. 2022 - 15. 02. 2023
Galerija Ravne

Matej Čepin’s paintings are extremely suggestive and fresh. He paints using the impasto technique. In his paintings, he depicts solitary figures placed in a fictitious landscape. The atmosphere in the works is surreal. Čepin’s approach to painting is reminiscent of that of Jože Tisnikar.

At the exhibition in the Ravne Gallery, Matej Čepin will present his latest works created in the most recent period. The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Koroška keeps several of his works in its collection.

Matej Čepin (1977, Celje) has no formal art education, he studied art independently. Since 2017, he has had the status of self-employed professional in the field of culture. So far, he has presented his works at numerous solo exhibitions (MMC Kibla Maribor, The Wonderful Gardens of Ms. R., 2015, and The Next Day, 2020/2021; Murska Sobota Gallery, Where We Are Now, 2016; Likovni salon Celje, Para-Noir, 2016; Mihelič Gallery Ptuj, Owls are Not What they Seem, 2015; Alkatraz Gallery Ljubljana) and group exhibitions (Piran City Gallery; Murska Sobota Gallery; Center for Contemporary Arts Celje, The Tremendeous World I Have Inside my Head.
