The exhibition of steel sculptures by Tobias Putrih is entitled “Steel Industry”. Thus, even its title is directly related to the more than 400-year tradition of iron-making in Slovenian lands.
The sculptures at the exhibition will be made of various steels produced by the company SIJ Metal Ravne. Pieces weighing around 200 kg will be cut from existing available forgings. Their weight will determine their shape and thus the steel pieces will be transformed into works of art. Each piece of steel at the exhibition will also be equipped with the official name/code and chemical composition of the alloy used. The sculptor Tobias Putrih will exhibit products of various shapes and sizes in the Ravne Gallery on pedestals made specifically for this purpose.
