On Saturday, 22 February 2020 at 6 PM, you are cordially invited to the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Koroška for the formal ceremony on the 160th anniversary of the birth of composer Hugo Wolf.
The ceremony is an introduction into the celebration of Wolf’s year, with which we will honour the 160th anniversary of the composer’s birth. The speaker of honour, prof. dr. Matjaž Barbo, will define and explain the significance and role of Hugo Wolf as a composer within Slovenian and European space. The concert programme will be performed by the Mixed Chamber Choir Carinthia Cantat and the Chamber Choir Hugo Wolf Maribor, accompanied on the piano by the outstanding pianist Maja Kastratovik.
Before the event, at 5:45 PM, the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor, together with the Minister of Culture mag. Zoran Poznič, will lay a wreath at the bust of Hugo Wolf in front of his house at Glavni trg 40 in Slovenj Gradec. A wreath commemorating fellow citizen of Slovenj Gradec will also be placed by the Mayor of Slovenj Gradec Tilen Klugler.
