HERMANN FALKE
Born 1933 in Schmallenberg / Sauerland / Westphalia. In 1938, the family moved to Meschede. In February 1945, their house was completely destroyed in a bomb attack. From 1959 to 1963 he studied at the Department of Graphics, Printing and Advertising of the National School of Industrial Design and Art in Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe with prof. Ernst Jupp and prof. Karl Oskar Blase. From 1963 to 1974, he ran the independent advertising agency Falke & Rust in Bad Homburg. In 1975, he restored the “Old Mill” in Schmallenberg, which became Falke’s work and living environment. In 1982, he and his wife, Renate Supantschitsch, drew up plans and began building a house in Libuče / Loibach in southern Carinthia. In 1986, he had to undergo a bypass operation at a clinic in Aachen, died in Libuče on June 3rd of the same year, and was buried in the cemetery in Lower Libuče.
