Jože Suhadolnik, the photography editor at the Delo daily newspaper, and Mateja Kotnik, a journalist for the same paper, published in the second half of 2008 multiple reports on foreigners working in Slovenia. Their goal was to showcase the life stories of migrant workers. In the pro­cess, they looked to answer the questions as to who and what they were, where they came from, who were the people closest to them, for whom they were willing to find work several hundred or even sev­eral thousand kilometres away from their homes, and what kind of life they lived in Slovenia. They then proceeded to visit their families in Romania, Bulgaria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The work consists of colour photos by Jože Suhadolnik, captioned by short sto­ries by the journalist Mateja Kotnik.
