MIRKO BRATUŠA
He was born in 1963 in Negova, near Gornja Radgona. He finished his studies of sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, then went on postgraduate studies in Munich and Dusseldorf. He is the author of many unusual and unconventional public memorials, among which the most famous are the memorial to the landing of a stratospheric balloon in Ženavlje in the Goričko region of Prekmurje, and the memorial N. G. in Nova Gorica. Bratuša is a professor at the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana, he famously represented Slovenia at the renowned Venice Biennial of Arts, and he also won the Prešeren Fund Award already in 2006.
